You are a tenant?
You need financial help for your rent? You need financial help to adapt your apartment?
If you are spending too much of your income on your monthly rent, the Shelter Allowance Program may be able to help you, depending on your age and household structure. Am I eligible for the Shelter Allowance? Consult the eligibility table to see if you qualify for the Shelter Allowance.
Rent Supplement program The Rent Supplement program helps people on low incomes, people with disabilities and people living in difficult circumstances, such as women who are victims of violence, to rent a private-sector dwelling or a housing unit belonging to a housing cooperative or non-profit organization. The conditions for the program are similar to those governing low-rental housing. Home Adaptation for Seniors’ Independence If you are 65 years of age or over, on a low income and need to make minor alterations to your apartment, the Home Adaptation for Seniors’ Independence program may be able to help you pay for essential work. Consult the program details, then contact your city or regional county municipality, which will establish your eligibility using the maximum eligible income table. Residential Adaptation Assistance Program If you are a disabled person whose limitations affect your daily activities, the Home Adaptation Program provides financial assistance for essential adaptations required to make your apartment functional and accessible. |
